Soror Dr. Valencia Hall began her journey in Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. as a youth member, Iota GEM to a Future Iota Girl (FIG) during the mid 90’s. She won the Local and National level scholarships from the Sorority in her last year of high school and continued to support the ladies of the Alpha Kappa Chapter throughout her collegiate studies. Soror Valencia received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture. After working in a firm for a short time, she decided that teaching Architecture and design was a better fit for her and started attending Texas Southern University’s doctoral program in Education while teaching. During the Spring of 2012, Soror Valencia obtained her Doctorate in Education and also joined the ranks of sisterhood as a charter member of the Epsilon Sigma Chapter. As a new member, she was installed as the Chapter Journalist, chaired the Toys-U-Can’t Return committee, and participated on numerous committees.
In the Spring of 2016, she later chartered the Epsilon Phi Chapter which aids the Humble and Northeast Houston area which are parts of town where she grew up and lived. In this particular chapter, she is currently the Chapter President, and Webmaster. She has also participated in numerous committees in this chapter and organized community service events. When she is not working in the name of Iota, Soror Valencia is working as an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington H.S. and the H.S. for Engineering Professions in Houston ISD. In this position, she supports campus staff, helps with 12th grade class activities as the Senior Sponsor and Administrator, and oversees the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. Soror Valencia's motto as a member of Iota is “Commitment is now, not later. Therefore, I will give my best in service and sisterhood to encourage others to do the same.”
